It has been confirmed That the Cunard's Queen Victoria will be making its first ever port of call in Scotland, when it comes to Greenock next year.
Greenock is a town on the West coast of Scotland in the district of Inverclyde.

Inverclyde Tourist Group are people who are passionate about the local area. The Inverclyde Tourist Group got together in 2002 to promote Inverclyde in a friendly and informal way. They are all volunteers and are a completely non-profit-making organisation. They run tours of our local area and to share knowledge of the local area including Greenock, Port Glasgow and Gourock.

James Watt
The inventor James Watt is one of the areas most famous historical figures. Lauded all around the globe as the man that brought the world the steam engine and he came from Greenock. He was born on the 19th of January 1736.
Watts father was a ship owner, ship wrght and contractor. His mother, Agnes Muirhead, was a highly educated woman from a wealthy distinguished family who taught her son from school. Both his parents were also dilligent Covenanters and Presbyterians. The young James dislayed a facility for numbers and exceptional manual dexterity. He also had a great love for Scottish history and folk lore.
